8-Bit Players came in to existence in the summer of 2013 as a result of a vision to merge two interests: performance and fiction.

Joshua Patton, director and founder of 8-Bit Players, combines a love of fiction and a passion for performance into acting workshops that help fiction enthusiasts to connect to characters and roles with ease and confidence.

One of the core values in the teaching philosophy of 8-Bit Players is maintaining the relationship between the individual student and the group (the community of students). The individual needs the group to grow, while the group needs the individual to sustain itself.

The workshops therefore focus on building skills and attitudes that enable students to grow individually and to work collectively. As an acting coach, Joshua provides a safe, challenging environment based on trust, encouragement and cooperation.

We welcome students who are open to growth, welcome a challenge, and are happy to collaborate with others.
